I am a Biologist with expertise in Entomology, Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics. Currently, I serve as a professor and researcher at the Centro Universitario de Zacapa of the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. My main work has focused on establishing and curating biological repositories, including the digitization of biological collections and the development of DNA repositories to support biodiversity research and conservation.
In addition, I have conducted research on wildlife pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, and biodiversity monitoring, particularly in dry forest ecosystems. I also teach graduate-level courses in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, and Quantitative Data Analysis, contributing to the development of research capacities in the region.
